Louis Pomey – Historical Genre Scene

Fine late 19th-century oil on canvas depicting two elegantly dressed gentlemen toasting in a richly furnished interior. Signed Louis Pomey and presented in an exceptional carved giltwood frame.

Pomey exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1867, specialising in portraits and genre scenes, and received a Mention or Medal in 1889. His works are held by the Musée de Nice and Musée de Gray.
